Why choose Rico Stuffing Fibres – Soft Toy Filling 100 g?

100 g Polyester Filling: This is Rico's stuffing fiber, labeled Perlenfaser in German: 100 g of 100% polyester that Rico describes as super soft, feathery and odorless, as well as breathable and moisture resistant.
Small Bag, Small Toys: Pull off thin tufts and add them in layers, pressing each into the edges before the next. One 100 g bag suits a few small amigurumi; Rico rates 250 g of its wadding for a 40 cm doll.
Washable Small Projects: Use it in amigurumi, bag charms, pincushions and small cushions. Rico states the filling is washable at 40°C and suitable for tumble drying, so the yarn you crocheted with sets the toy's care.

Description

Rico Stuffing Fibres – the soft heart of every amigurumi

Rico Stuffing Fibres is a light, springy polyester filling for soft toys, amigurumi, cushions and any project that needs to hold its shape. The fibres are pre-teased, so they pull apart easily and pack in evenly without lumps — one 100 g bag fills roughly two or three medium amigurumi figures.

💡 Mix & Match: pair it with YarnArt Jeans for classic amigurumi, or with Ricorumi Furry Furry Print when you want a fluffy finish.

Why choose this filling?

Keeps its bounce: the fibres spring back instead of flattening, so your toy still looks full after months of hugging.
Easy to portion: teased fibres separate cleanly by hand — add a little at a time and shape as you go.
Washable: polyester dries quickly and holds up to a gentle machine wash, which matters for anything a child will actually play with.

TIPS & TRICKS

Pro Tip: Stuff narrow parts such as necks, arms and legs as you crochet, a few rounds at a time; a long tube filled at the end stays soft in the middle. Leave the open top of a limb lightly filled so it sews on flat against the body.

Reviews about Rico Stuffing Fibres – Soft Toy Filling 100 g

About Product

What does Perlenfaser mean on Rico Stuffing Fibres?

Perlenfaser is German for pearl fibre: polyester filling formed into small, loose fibre clusters rather than a flat sheet. The little clusters slide easily into narrow arms, legs and ears and spread evenly, so toys fill smoothly with fewer lumps. That makes it particularly practical for small, detailed shapes.

How many amigurumi can I stuff with 100 g of Rico Stuffing Fibres?

Roughly two or three medium-sized amigurumi, or a larger number of small ones such as mini animals. How firmly you stuff changes the count, so treat it as a guide. For a big toy, a cushion or a whole batch of gifts, Rico Craft Wadding in a 250 g or 500 g bag is the more practical size.

How do I stop white stuffing showing through my amigurumi stitches?

Crochet tighter rather than stuffing less: drop half a hook size, for example to 3 mm from the 3.5 mm on a YarnArt Jeans label, using the Rico Ricorumi Crochet Hook Set. Stuff firmly, but not until the stitches stretch open. With dark yarn, wrapping the filling in a scrap of matching fabric hides any remaining gaps.
