How many balls of Alize Kid Royal 50 for a sweater?

Held together with a main yarn, most adult sweaters need 2–3 balls. A carry-along mohair strand uses the same length as the yarn it is paired with, typically 1,000–1,500 m for an adult pullover, and each 50 g ball holds 500 m, so 1,500 ÷ 500 = 3. Check your main yarn's total meters and divide by 500.

Kid Royal 50 vs DROPS Kid-Silk: what's the difference?

Kid Royal 50 is 62% kid mohair with 38% polyamide, while DROPS Kid-Silk is 75% mohair with 25% silk. The silk gives Kid-Silk a subtle sheen; the polyamide in Kid Royal gives a strong, durable core under the halo. Both are lace weight and work well knitted alone or held with another yarn.

How do I unravel Alize Kid Royal without tangling?

Put the knitting in a bag in the freezer for an hour or two, since cold mohair fibers grip less. Then pull back slowly, one stitch at a time, easing stuck fibers apart instead of tugging. For lace or shaping, thread a lifeline through a plain row so you never have to rip back further than that point.

Can you crochet with Kid Royal 50?

Yes, mohair crochets well in open stitches such as mesh, shells and chain lace, where the halo fills the gaps.
